INTRODUCTION TO THE ARTIST'S WORK

“Francesco Mori l_assedio di Milano, (de Bello Italico), tecnica mista su tavola, cm 150x200 (Particolare)

"Francesco Mori, a young man whose replica of the stained glass window by Duccio di Buoninsegna I had seen a few years ago, made in an admirable way for the Siena Cathedral, when it was decided to place the restored original in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo. With the same expertise Francesco Mori designed and built the partially destroyed windows of the Cathedral of Noto.
The paradox of our time, increasingly evident, is the coexistence of tradition and innovation of patient and experimental research: a coexistence and at the same time an impossible dialogue.
The paradox of our time, increasingly evident, is the coexistence of tradition and innovation of patient and experimental research: a coexistence and at the same time an impossible dialogue. Thus, it would seem unjustified and discriminatory not to record the commitment, with always surprising results, even in the religious sphere, of Mario Donizetti, in more rigorous and severe tests than many, in work, by Pietro Annigoni and his school (Luciano Guarnieri, Marcello Tommasi, Romano Stefanelli, Fernando Berardini, Silvestro Pistolesi), often illustrative, and therefore viewed with suspicion. But from that school, the "miraculous" Francesco Mori also emerges, capable of escaping the master's ill-spirited illustrativism ".
